Our trip east

Well, we survived 10 days together! And 6 of those days were spent in the car for 10+ hr stretches! All went well and we're contemplating another trip some other time.

We arrived in Missouri to meet my family on my dad's side. It was so good to see everyone! The kids were all so much bigger and have really changed in the past 2-3 years. The heat was a little hard to deal with but luckily our cabins were all air conditioned and the pool helped a great deal.

We left Thurs. to head to the Grand Canyon. All I can say is WOW! Absolutely amazing. We walked along the paths on the rim and watched brave people (including John!) find their way out onto precarious ledges. There were very few guard rails along the rim so that made me very nervous. But we all returned to the car safely. We drove down the road and found more paths to follow along the rim. It was really neat to see if from another view and what the lodges look like overlooking the canyon.
