Updates

We just celebrated one of our summer b-days. Stephanie turned 9 on Monday then Max turns 6 next Tues. One party after another! Steph had some friends over for the afternoon then a couple stayed overnight. She seems to be loving her portable cd player although, it appears that the headset is permanently attached to her head!

Connor's a walking busy-body. He still walks like a little drunk and has the bruises to show for it. So far he hasn't even attempted to empty the kitchen cupboards :-) I'm sure that time is coming but he HAS found the toilet on occasion (egads!). We've been teaching him baby sign language and is using some of the signs regularly. It is soooo neat! He will sign 'milk' when he wants to nurse or have his glass of milk, sometimes even signs 'please' with it. He uses the signs for 'eat', 'pain', and sometimes signs 'thank you'. Wow, does it make a difference to know what he actually wants! We're teaching him several other signs and can't wait for him to start using more of them. Babies are so smart. I'm simply amazed.

Car is still in the shop so that pretty much stinks. There are so many things we want to do but can't. It's getting really irritating.

We're planning a family reunion in Missouri in a few weeks with my dad's side. Should be fun! We haven't seen some of them in a few years and it'll be nice to get the kids together. If we end up driving, it should be an interesting trip out there. We'd also like to take a side trip on the way home to the Grand Canyon. The girls freaked out when I mentioned it...they're SURE we will all fall into the canyon ;-) Heehee!
